چکیده

Abstract Background Fractures of the base coracoid process are relatively rare, but an increasing number studies have reported using screws to fix fractures. This study was performed simulate surgical procedure and obtain ideal diameter, length, insertion point angle screw from a 3-D axial perspective in Chinese patients. Methods We randomly collected right scapula computed tomography (CT) scans 100 adults. DICOM-formatted CT scan images were imported into Mimics software. A 3D digital model established. Two virtual cylinders representing two placed top neck across process. The largest secure diameters lengths measured. positions points directions also examined. Results safe zone can exhibit irregular fusiform shape according reconstructed model. mean maximum medial lateral 7.08 ± 1.19 mm 7.34 1.11 mm, respectively. 43.11 6.31 48.16 6.94 corridor with diameter at least 4.5 found all sex-dependent differences screws. statistically different sexes. Conclusions provides valuable guideline for determining fixing fracture For placement, we suggest individualised preoperative reconstruction simulations. Further biomechanical needed verify function

Isolated Fracture of the Coracoid Process

Approximately 2% to 15% of the patients with dislocated elbows are thought to present a fracture of the coronoid process of the ulna, but such a fracture does not often present in isolation. Its exact incidence is difficult to ascertain given the lack of studies on the subject. One case is presented of an isolated fracture of the coronoid process and it is placed in the context of the existing ...

Base of coracoid process fracture with acromioclavicular dislocation in a child

Fracture of the coracoid process is a rare injury. It can be easily missed when associated with other injuries to the shoulder girdle, for instance, acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dislocation. Clinical attention is easily drawn to the more obvious ACJ dislocation, hence, the need for further radiological evaluation. We report an unusual case of fracture of the base of coracoid process associated...

Repair of an Isolated Coracoid Fracture With Suture Anchor Fixation

Coracoid fractures are rare injuries, which may occur in isolation or in association with other shoulder pathology. The mechanism of trauma consists of a strong contraction of the conjoint tendon as a result of direct trauma. The diagnosis is usually difficult and many times overlooked, thereby requiring a high level of suspicion. In many cases, standard trauma series shoulder radiographs are u...

Coracoid Process Fracture in a High School Football Player

We presented a unique case of a high school athlete who suffered from a coracoid process fracture following a collision with an opposing player. This fracture is commonly misdiagnosed as a clavicular fracture or AC joint sprain. Initial radiographic examination may fail to identify the fracture site. Understanding the clinical features of this injury is an important prerequisite to its overall ...

Scaphoid Fracture Fixation with an Acutrak® Screw

We report a case of fixation of a scaphoid fracture using an Acutrak(®) screw. This screw is cannulated and headless, which allows it to be implanted below the surface of the bone. It uses the same concept of variable thread pitch as the Herbert screw, but unlike the Herbert screw, is fully threaded, with continuously varying pitch along its length. This variable pitch creates constant compress...
